Geography

Jess Boughton discusses the conscious and purposeful changes she has made to diversify Geography. She shares how she looked to her community to lead this development and sought to ensure that they were reflected within the curriculum.

She explains the very conscious shifts they made as a school to decolonise the content, using inquiry and semantic shifts to the themes.

Jess also introduces the fascinating concept of “emotional geography,” which encourages children to explore how learning makes them feel.
